How to copy your Instagram comments
It takes about a minute on a computer. We never see your account.
On a computer
- Open the post on instagram.com in a browser on your computer, such as Chrome, Safari, Edge or Firefox.
- Click the post so the comments show next to it. Scroll the comments and click the + button (Load more comments) until no more load. Click 'View replies' on any thread whose replies count.
- Click just before the first username, then hold Shift and click after the last comment to select them all.
- Copy with Ctrl+C (Cmd+C on a Mac) and paste here with Ctrl+V (Cmd+V).
Tips
- Scroll and click 'Load more comments' until all comments are visible before copying.
- Replies stay hidden until you open them. Open them first if replies count as entries.
- It's fine if the caption, likes or the 'Add a comment…' box get copied too. They're skipped.
On a phone
- The Instagram app doesn't let you select and copy many comments at once. Use a computer to get the full list.
- If you only have a phone, open instagram.com in your phone's browser, switch to the desktop site and follow the computer steps. Selecting a long list this way is slow.
Each platform has its own rules for giveaways. Check them before you start.
How it works
- Copy the comments from your post on a computer. The guide under the tool shows how.
- Paste them here. Interface text such as 'Reply' and '2d' is removed, and each comment is listed.
- Check the list, fix a username if needed, and set your entry rules, such as 2 tags per comment.
- Pick your winners and share the draw link. Your followers can open it and watch the same winner come up.
Questions and answers
Why do I have to paste the comments?
Instagram lets outside tools read comments only through its official API, which needs a login with a Business or Creator account. Pasting needs no login at all: you copy the comments, and this page reads the text in your browser.
Does it work for personal accounts and collab posts?
Yes. Pickers that log in through Meta don't support personal accounts, and collab posts don't work with Instagram login. Pasting works for any post you can see, whatever the account type.
How do I copy all comments?
On a computer, open the post, click the + button until every comment has loaded, and open the replies that count. Then select from the first username to the last comment and copy. The Instagram app can't copy many comments at once.
Can I require tags?
Yes. Set 'Required @mentions per comment' from 0 to 10. Only different accounts count: tagging the same friend twice, tagging yourself or tagging the host doesn't. You can also require a keyword or a hashtag.
Is there a comment limit?
No. There's no cap on comments or winners. One paste can be up to 5 MB of text, which is tens of thousands of comments, and it's all handled in your browser.
Do you see my account or my comments?
No. We never log into your account or ask for a password. The comments stay in your browser and the draw runs there too. Nothing you paste is sent to us.
What are Instagram's rules for giveaways?
Instagram has its own promotion rules, and the law where you and your entrants live applies too. Check both before you start.
